A universal practice, photography suffers from its own ubiquity. We are all producers and consumers of images, even more so in the digital age. The common nature of the practice tends to hide its complexity. Photography is, in essence, an opaque phenomenon that can only be approached by taking all of its elements into account: technical, sociological, industrial, anthropological, historical or artistic.
